Monica’s background includes teaching and volunteer work. Her interest in helping people led her to work on a suicide hotline and in a shelter for abused women. In Sarasota\, Monica worked at CYESIS where she taught young mothers\, still in high school\, not only how to care for their babies but she also cared for the children while their mothers attended classes. Monica has a BA in elementary education and\, after her children were grown\, earned her MA degree in Counseling. Beginning as a science teacher at Brooklyn Technical High School\, Tony ended his active working life with 25 years at the National Board of Medical Examiners in Philadelphia. He earned a PhD in Secondary Education and Curriculum. He has authored articles and book chapters and has presented scientific papers and workshops on three continents. Tony resides in Boca Raton with his wife of 53 years\, Susan. At ILIR\, he has been the facilitator of Aristotle's Bistro and co-facilitates the ILIR Film Club with his wife Susan. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Facilitator\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Susan LaDuca\, Ph.D.\,(TempleUniversity 1993) Is a retired licensed family therapist\, having had a private practice in Philadelphia for over 30 years with expertise in interfaith marriage. She served as supervisor for the Pa. Assoc. For Marriage and Family therapy. A New Yorker at birth\, Susan grew up in New Jersey where she met her husband in high school. They moved to N.Y. where their two daughters were born. She and Tony moved full time to Boca from their longtime home in Philadelphia. Volunteer activities include participation in local politics as an Abington township Democratic committee person\, volunteer for the American Red Cross\, and founding member of the Women’s Center of Montgomery Township. Susan has been an avid film lover since her teens. Joel’s life-long love of politics and world affairs started with working for candidates during the 1968 presidential campaign. Joel is a retired business executive who has been CEO/COO of five different start-ups and large biomedical and IT companies after beginning his career at Johnson and Johnson. He also managed a seed-stage Venture Capital fund. Since retiring in 2014\, Joel has been a volunteer mentor for start-up companies in South Florida and a member of the Investment Committee for Florida Funders. Additionally\, he was formerly the Board Treasurer and is President of his condo association in Boca Raton. Joel holds a B.S. in Chemistry from The University of Redlands (CA) and an M.A. in Genetics and Molecular Biology from Indiana University. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n This meeting takes place on Zoom.
