The Institute for Learning in Retirement aka ILIR kicks off its winter session on ZOOM on January 9, 2023 with an eclectic menu of classes.

For over 30 years, south Florida-based, The Institute for Learning in Retirement aka ILIR, a feisty lifelong learning community has hosted small, interactive community classes for adults led by volunteer presenters.

Although we miss learning and meeting new people in person, we have been able to strengthen our learning community and continue our friendships on ZOOM. ILIR has recruited volunteer speakers from all over the country. Presenters include retired professionals, community activists, university faculty and PhD candidates, government officials, authors, and others.

Winter session features local and out-of-state presenters. Presenters include:

In the words of one ILIR regular, “At ILIR, I had a chance to listen to very interesting lectures given by informed presenters from a wide variety of backgrounds on diverse topics that I didn’t know I was interested in, and all at a very reasonable cost. Just as importantly, I enjoyed the company of people who are interested in engaging in conversation.”

Winter session begins on January 9th. Classes include Current Events, SPOTLIGHT:  Science, Environment and more; The Joy of Poetry; Issues and Ideas; Film Club; and Healthy Relationships in Our Senior Years. Classes will be held on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

For further information call 561-883-0999 or visit the ILIR website at www.iliretirement.org. Registration to attend all classes in fall session is $110/person or $165/household. First class is free.
