Howard Gleichenhaus, BA, MA; is a retired biology teacher and teachers’ union leader.  He has been leading the current events class for the past few terms, and is a past ILIR chairman.

Jay Lipow is a retired lawyer and past ILIR chairman.

Bob Sykes Retired Advertising executive. He was the former Chair at ILIR and has over the years presented multiple programs.

Robert Israel, BA, MA, formerly owned a men's clothing chain in Pennsylvania, and also was a business school teacher.

George Feirstein public speaker brings an original perspective on our world.

Retired teacher Ursula Hess was born in La Paz, Bolivia, and has a B.A. in Spanish and German.

Joy Frost taught middle school English, and a poetry course at the Delray Beach Library.

Jacobo Goldstein has reported national and international news for 40 years: half of them as CNN radio correspondent to the White House, covering the administrations of four presidents.

Sybil Rabinovitz spent 20 years as an account coordinator for Estee Lauder. Her husband Merv is a retired pharmacist. Merv is the ILIR Vice-Chair and Sybil is on our board.

Stan Newman is editor of the Long Island Newsday puzzle section, and winner of many worldwide competitions.

Stanley Feldstein, D.D.S. is a retired dentist with special interest in the physical sciences.

Earl Titlebaum, J.D. practiced for over 40 years law in Massachusetts. He is also on ILIR board.


Ann Elbirt has taught at temples in Massachusetts.

Steve Kates, a native New Yorker, spent twenty-nine years as a senior advertising executive, and eleven years in Florida in various corporate positions.  After retiring in 2000, he returned to his first love, writing. He is on our board.

Semi-retired attorney Stanley Schachter has facilitated past ILIR programs on books and now he turns to another of his favorite subjects, music.

Ethel Blitz is a retired 5th generation diamond dealer with a B.S. in Business from Empire State College 

Sonia Ravich She has ”participated” for more than fifteen years in writing workshops and having a variety of articles and essays published in the local papers as well as several anthologies. She was a prizewinner three years in a row in the Sylvia Wolens Jewish Heritage Writing competition.
