Stuff: What can we learn about people from material culture?

SPOTLIGHT: Women in Science

Sandra Norman, FAU, History Department, Associate Professor

Throughout time, in most cultures, it is a small minority of people – literate, wealthy and male – who leave us their stories. What we learn about the others often comes from studying foodways, clothing, ceramics, etc. How to use “stuff” to learn about the people left out of the narrative is what we will be discussing.

This meeting takes place on Zoom. The zoom links are sent via email in your membership update letter, and again an hour before each event. To get access to our programs, visit our registration page.
